The Knight Writer: A Pitch for “The Christmas Fire: Aidan, Nicole, and Santa Claus”

Just a rough idea of what the cover might look like

So it’s been an exhausting and tiring few months since I last posted something on the blog. Been dealing with quite a bit and am still grinding to keep ahead of the bills. However, I haven’t stopped writing here and there. Just nothing substantial for blogging (though plenty of things I’d like to say about recent events). However, I wanted to share a pitch and synopsis for a Christmas story idea I came up with. While I have outlined the story and know how it will end, I don’t know when it will actually be written. Though I do know that I would want to release it for the holiday season…whenever that will be.

Right now, the story’s working title is “The Christmas Fire: Aidan, Nicole, and Santa Claus.” Mostly because it is easier to remember what story this is when I’m browsing all of the ideas I have jotted down over the years.

But this particular story has quickly grown to gain my attention more and more. Mostly because it gives me the opportunity to create a new mythos surrounding Santa Claus as a byproduct of the main story.

I also created a placeholder cover that you can check out along with reading the pitch.

Just a rough idea of what the cover might look like

One Sentence Pitch:

“After the tragic loss of his parents, Aidan’s life is forever changed when he meets Nicole, the daughter of Santa Claus, who tries to help him navigate his pain and find a path towards forgiveness and love on a series of emotional Christmas Eves while he attempts to find his father’s killer and either dole out justice or bring the killer to justice.”

Pitch:

The Christmas Fire is a tale of love, loss, and redemption in the wake of anger and hatred that takes place during the holiday season. When Aidan, a young boy grieving the loss of his father to gang violence, meets Nicole, the daughter of Santa Claus, he is skeptical of who she is while coming to grips over the death of his father. But as Nicole visits him every Christmas Eve, and helps him find a better way to honor his father’s memory, Aidan is preparing to take matters into his own hands though, with Nicole’s help, he begins to heal. As the years pass, and they spend every Christmas Eve together, Aidan and Nicole’s friendship grows, with ebbs and flows, as they face challenges together though with different outlooks on the same problems. And while Nicole learns more about Aidan, Aidan is learning about Nicole and about her father – Santa Claus. But the specter of his father’s killer haunts Aidan until he is forced to make a choice that will impact not just his future, but his friendship with Nicole.

So who is Nicole and how is she Santa Claus’s daughter? Definitely one of the questions I want potential readers to think about when they read the pitch. As to the answer, I think I have come up with a very intriguing one.

However, that will be for another blog post.

Let me know what you think of the pitch and I might even take the time to write down an intro to the story for posting on here.
