It’s been two weeks since Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws finally made its way to the Steam platform. However, its opening weekend immediately gave rise to concern over its sales performance, since launch, as it failed to reach 2,500 concurrent players. Going into the second weekend, Star Wars Outlaws failed to reach that milestone as well, reaching 2,247 concurrent players on Steam.
During Outlaws’s opening weekend, Ubisoft’s action-adventure game, was shy by eight from reaching 2,500. Its second weekend saw a 9.8% drop from that peak to 2,247 players. Such low player numbers on Steam means that Star Wars Outlaws couldn’t even break into the Top 100 Played Games on Steam which, in 100th place, was ARK: Survival Ascended with around 16,000 players.
Star Wars Outlaws sales figures on Steam range between 22,000 and 46,000, a significant increase from its lower estimate of 4,000 copies during its first week on Steam. As for overall sales, there has been no official word though, according to Insider Gaming, the website claims that “sources close to the game” stated that Star Wars Outlaws sold just over 1 million copies during its first month.
Prior to being released on Steam, Ubisoft admitted that, during its Half-year earnings report for 2024, Star Wars Outlaws “underperformed sales expectations” and didn’t provide any sales figures or what the company’s expectations were for the game. Given its performance on Steam, Outlaws appears to be on track for not meeting Ubisoft’s sales goals.
