I have heard a lot of pretty cool beats that I could envision myself writing lyrics for. But this beat called Champion smacked me right in the face the second I heard it. Not only that, but it is the first beat I have heard where I thought to myself that this song could be fire. Not just fire, but inspiring if there are great lyrics to go with the beat and the hook created for it. I don’t know if I am the person to provide such lyrics.
But it isn’t for a lack of trying!
Now, similar to “Fool For Loving You,” the lyrics that started hitting me were focused on addressing men. Though in a more general sense than a specific one. Why? Because, right now, there is a need for young men, and men in general, to be reminded that it is okay to be masculine. That there is nothing wrong with it. But not just be masculine, but to rise up which will require an inner strength and mental fortitude that wasn’t needed before by previous generations of men.
But I think the first line of verse one sets up the tone for the song pretty well. I mean, it is true that being a man is a trade now as more and more people are creating content catering to men on how to be men in this modern world that has stripped men of their purpose and reason for existence. And too many men no longer know how to be men or what it is to be a man thanks to social media, feminism, and SJWs warping the concept of being a man.
Yet, nothing will change unless people speak out about it before things continue to devolve to a point of no return. And this is just one of my ways of trying to make that change happen.
Let me know in the comments or on social media what you think of the lyrics!
Intro – Gentlemen, the path is long and it is hard. But if you stay on it and don’t break, you WILL reach the stars.
Hook
Wo-oh, I was born for Greatness
Oh-wo, A legend in the making
Deep in my bones, Oh yeah I know,
I am, I am the champion.
I know where I’m going
I have been chosen
Never be broken
I am the champion
Verse 1
Legends made, it’s a trade, being men now
Disrespected, Genuflected, is the game show
By a world, that is guided by the Hoes now
Of men and women who voluntarily ripped their spinal cords out
But I am not going to be part of that crowd
Have to stand up, stay up as they try to knock me down
Yeah, the struggle of it all will be epically great
Yet I’ll break through because I am the Champion of my fate
Hook
Wo-oh, I was born for Greatness
Oh-wo, A legend in the making
Deep in my bones, Oh yeah I know,
I am, I am the champion.
I know where I’m going
I have been chosen
Never be broken
I am the champion
Verse 2
Born worthless, build greatness, never kowtow
To psychos screeching that to be a man is toxic now
You can’t be the chosen if you don’t choose yourself
Control your emotions, crumple up the negative put it on a shelf
Because, in the end, real men are Champions of their fate
Choose your path, your body, your mind, and even what you eat
Master these things to be counted among the truly great
To be the leader of men that society used to cultivate
Never bend, never fold, and never think to ever break
Stay on your path, bear the pain, until you can truly create
Your self worth that no man or woman can never try to take
Because in the end you are the champion of your fate
Hook
Wo-oh, I was born for Greatness
Oh-wo, A legend in the making
Deep in my bones, Oh yeah I know,
I am, I am the champion.
I know where I’m going
I have been chosen
Never be broken
I am the champion
Outro
Make the gains, through the pain, till at last you can say that
I am the I am the
Champion of fate, time for new men to be exceptional
Buck this weak society that has not any struggles
Weak men will always wallow in self-inflicted misery
While you go on to finally say
I am the I am the
Champion of fate, reach that finish line
And we’ll be there to help you celebrate your hard-fought forged fate
