Starbreeze Studios has announced that PAYDAY 3 will be released globally in 2023 on PC and consoles. While a specific release date has yet to be announced, the press release unveiled the PAYDAY 3 logo via a release trailer as an amuse-bouche for fans of the first-person heist co-op franchise.
PAYDAY 3 is the highly anticipated sequel to PAYDAY 2, which was released in 2013 and has since sold over 40 million copies, making it one of the most played games on PC. The game boasts the largest community on Steam, with over 8 million players. PAYDAY 3 will follow the original PAYDAY gang – Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains – as they return to a life of crime in New York City after coming out of retirement.
The PAYDAY franchise was first launched in 2011 and has since sold over 18 million units on various platforms. It has also had over 230 paid and free updates since the release of PAYDAY 2. In addition to being available on various gaming systems, PAYDAY 2 is also available in VR for existing owners as a free upgrade on Steam for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift headsets.
