Novarama’s latest multiplayer FPS, United 1944, is set to have its first Closed Beta on the weekend of May 19-21. The game combines shooting, strategy, and crafting for players. The Closed Beta phase will be playable for 4 hours per day and will give players a sneak peek at the game before its full commercial launch on PC later this year.
During the Closed Beta, players will be able to participate in 16v16 base conquest matches in the theater of North Africa during World War 2. The beta will allow players to experience the game’s Domination mode where they must scavenge for resources, craft weapons, find enemy intel documents, establish outposts, and destroy all enemy bases. In the future, additional maps, such as France and Russia, will be added.
Players can request access to the beta on the United 1944 Steam page. However, Novarama has stated that this will not guarantee access as players will be selected randomly. Though, more beta tests will follow in the coming months providing players additional opportunities to play the game.
United 1944 does not have predetermined classes, so it will be up to players to evolve their playstyle to their team’s needs through an open-ended skill tree during each match. The game features over 40 abilities across skill trees for engineer, recon, sharpshooter, explorer, and support roles, allowing players to create their own fighter to fit the needs of the situation during each fight.
In addition, United 1944 will have a dynamic day/night cycle, dense cities where every building is traversable, and 18 weapons ranging from improvised rifles to classic firearms such as the M1 Garand, MP40, and Kar98k. The game seeks to offer the most immersive take on WWII battles yet, where players will have to use the entirety of the war-torn maps to gain a strategic advantage.
To get in on the Closed Beta, interested players can join the game’s Discord and/or sign up on the United 1944 Steam page.
