Ancient Forge, the Polish developer and publisher behind the Studio Ghibli-inspired management sim, Hotel Galactic, has officially launched a Kickstarter campaign for the game. The campaign, which launched on July 9th, will run for three weeks and end on July 30, 2024.
Hotel Galactic, which invites players to restore a rundown inn amongst the stars, will make its live events debut at Gamescom 2024. Attendees can experience the game firsthand at booth B078 in Hall 10.1. Players will have the chance to design rooms, craft recipes, and cater to a variety of strange and eccentric guests from across the cosmos, aiming to transform the inn into a 5-star destination.
The game’s mechanics includes a modular building mechanic for designing and customizing the hotel, similar to games such as Fallout Shelter, allow players to renovate their rooms to match the guests’ tastes, and even go out to harvest resources around the area. Players will also have to learn and cook new dishes, research new tools, equipment, and technologies that will help improve and adapt the hotel to various extraterrestrial guests.
Hotel Galactic’s Kickstarter campaign has raised over $43,000 with a goal set at $130,057. Rewards for backers starts at $10 which includes the digital OST, digital artbook, desktop wallpaper set, and a Discord role for exclusive access. Backers who wish to get the game as a reward will have to donate $32 in order to receive a Hotel Galactic Key for either Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch. Higher tiers offer additional rewards such as alpha game access ($71), First Visitor Skin and Uniform Set ($93), Physical OST Vinyl ($174), and more.
The Campaign’s stretch goals include Extra Community Updates (€150,000), Steam Deck Compatibility (€200,000), New VIP Questline (€250,000), New Alien Race (€300,000), and a Japanese Voiceover (€350,000).
Hotel Galactic has amassed 50,000 wishlists on Steam since its debut and is set to launch on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch though no specific release date has been provided.
