Solo Developer Unveils NEDRA, a Chilling Survival Horror FPS Set in Soviet-Era Antarctica for Q2 2025 Release

Independent developer Davit Andreasyan has announced NEDRA, a FPS survival horror game set in the icy expanse of Antarctica which will release Q2 2025 for the Steam platform. Combining Lovecraftian terror with intense, story-driven action Nedra, a single player game, will challenge players to survive in an unforgiving, icy landscape while uncovering the secrets of an abandoned research station.

Players will take on the role of Arthur, a lone explorer navigating a labyrinthine Antarctic station where the previous occupants have mysteriously vanished. The game’s survival mechanics will require players to lower Arthur’s body temperature dangerously close to hypothermia to evade detection by monstrous creatures called Frostwalkers which are drawn to body heat.

However, Arthur’s fight for survival doesn’t end with the cold. Avoiding the Frostwalkers comes with the added risk that, when his body temperature drops too low, he could die from exposure. To recover, he must consume an iodine-alcohol mixture, a double-edged solution that restores warmth but makes him visible to the lurking Frostwalkers.

Aside from survival mechanics, NEDRA will offer players an immersive experience in a Soviet-era world, combining chilling environments with an intricate, Lovecraftian narrative. As players explore the station, they will need to balance both combat and stealth as they try to unravel dark conspiracies and ancient secrets, leading to moral dilemmas where survival isn’t always the ultimate goal.

I don’t want to go in there…
