Indie Fishing Action RPG Sea Fantasy to Set Sail January 2025 on Steam

Developer METASLA has announced that its action RPG, Sea Fantasy, will launch worldwide January 7, 2025 on Steam. For those obsessed with fishing, this pixelated open world game will be available on Steam, offering players a mix of fishing, exploration, fishing, combat, and more fishing for those who can never get enough of it in other games.

In Sea Fantasy, players will embark on a quest to save the world by catching mysterious marine creatures called “SeaAZ.” A world where fishing has become a way of life since, after a between humans, 70% of the continent ended up underwater. With over 100 different kinds of SeaAZ to catch that will vary in size, appearance, and rarity, everything about Sea Fantasy revolves around fishing.

Which includes the gameplay that combines action-packed fishing mechanics, where players must time their actions to deplete the creatures’ HP, with crafting systems that allow for upgrading fishing rods and hooks.

The story unfolds through the adventures of two characters, Rod and Axel with different roles. Rod specializes in fishing and material collection while Axel handles athletic challenges like removing obstacles. Players will be able to explore a vast pixel-art world both on foot and by boat, diving into side quests and additional 2D action sequences beyond fishing.

Sea Fantasy is currently set to sail on Steam January 7, 2025 for $14.99 and can be added to users’ wishlist. Release on other platforms has yet to be announced.
