For the virtual fisherman looking to save the world through their beloved activity, there is great news! Indie game Sea Fantasy just released on Steam for $14.99 that will allow you to fish, explore, fish some more, fight, fish a little here, craft, and fish a little there.
Developed by indie studio METASLA, Sea Fantasy is a pixelated 2D action RPG game where players are placed in a world where, after a war between humans, 70% of the continent ended up being underwater and making fishing a way of life and survival. Players will set out on a quest to save the world by catching more than 100 kinds of marine creatures called “SeaAZ” which will vary in size, appearance, and rarity.
Players will explore and learn about this pixelated world through the eyes of Rod and Axel who specialize in different areas. Rod’s specialty is fishing and material collection while Axel is more suited for athletic feats such as removing obstacles. Whether on foot or by boat, these two characters will help you explore the world while fishing the entire way.
But, in order to catch the SeaAZ, you will need to master the game’s fishing mechanics that involves timing your casts so that your hooks will deplete the creature’s health. Once caught, the game’s crafting system will let players create and upgrade their fishing equipment.
Sea Fantasy is now available on Steam for $14.99 and is currently on sale for $13.49 until January 13th.
