Stop Being in De Nile, Builders of Egypt is Now Available on Steam

For those looking to walk and talk like an Egyptian, when it comes to the city-building simulator genre, then look no further. After seven years in development, the indie simulator and strategy game Builders of Egypt is now available on Steam.

Developed by PlayWay S.A., Builders of Egypt will let players explore and develop in the land of the Pharaohs from the Nile Delta to Nubia. Players will be tasked to build and develop cities, gather resources, manage the economy and trade, keep your people in good health, guide religious development, and be strategic in controlling your armies and defending everything you have created.

With 39 missions, the game will span the entire history of Egypt during the time of the Pharaohs. The missions will start with players taking on the role of the governor of Memphis, under the rule of King Narmer in the early dynastic period, and end in Dendera under Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator during the Ptolemaic period.

To bring your cities to life, Builders of Egypt utilizes a grid-based building placement system in which players will have over 100 buildings to choose from and 11 monuments to construct and decide where to place it all. There will also be 29 various goods to gather, trade, and help grow your burgeoning economy.

However, in order to grow and develop your cities, players will need to keep their people happy and busy. To make that happen, it will be necessary to build places of worship in strategic areas so that citizens have regular access to them. Doing so, allows the organizing of Opet festivals and other celebrations, while also supplying goods to the temples.

The game will also have a sandbox mode that will allow you to do all of the above with freedom and creativity limited only by your own imagination.

Builders of Egypt is now available on Steam for $19.99 but is currently on sale for $17.59 until January 22nd. Be warned, Builders of Egypt also requires users to agree to a 3rd-party EULA (read before you buy).
