RPG City Builder Airborne Empire Launches on Steam Early Access

For those of you whose heads are always in the clouds, now you can create an empire that flies through the skies to make that a reality. Indie game developer The Wandering Band has launched Airborne Empire, a new open-world RPG city builder, on Steam Early Access.

Set in a world where civilizations were once in the clouds, rather than land, Airborne Empire will challenge players to build, manage, and expand their unique sky cities. The game combines elements of city-building with the strategic management of lift, balance, and propulsion necessary to keep a city afloat. Players will navigate a vast, richly detailed world filled with exotic wonders, hidden treasures, and new dangers, including aggressive sky pirates who threaten the tranquility of the skies.

Sky pirates who now rule the skies which drove everyone to live on the ground.

A sequel to Airborne Kingdom, Airborne Empire introduces deeper RPG elements, including more intricate side quests, a broader narrative, and a combat system that adds a layer of strategy to defending the aerial city from pirate assaults.

According to the developer, the Early Access version will have three complete biomes with each having its own main quest and side quests. The developer went on to reveal that they expect to be working on the game for at least a year and provided a list of features and content for Early Access.
