For those who want to get away from the egg wars currently happening between the Democrats and Republicans here in the United States, there is some hope on the horizon for you who are curious or just love chickens and their delicious eggs. Indie developer ZoZo Studio has announced Roadside Egg Stand, an idle game that promises to plop players into a serene world that revolves around small-town egg vending. The game is now available for wishlisting on Steam, looking to entice players wishing to experience the joy of managing their own egg stands.
Roadside Egg Stand places players in the village of Reine where they are tasked with bringing the freshest, finest eggs to the local residents. Players will raise chickens, gather their eggs, and sell them from various roadside stands dotted around the village.
The game will offer players a variety of chicken breeds for players to nurture, though no further details about the types of chickens was provided. From these chickens, players will be able to collect various types of eggs from speckled to golden. Now, we know chickens can lay green, brown, white, blue, and pink, but gold?
There is also an idle feature so that chickens will continue to lay their eggs even when players are offline.
But, in order to sell your eggs, you will need a stand or multiple stands. These stands will be customizable with flower baskets, lanterns, and hand-painted signs to make your stand appealing and charming to the customers. Location is key and will require exploration to find the ideal areas such as countryside lanes, forest trails, and village markets. Players will also need to set their prices, handle special requests, and make sure the chickens are healthy and happy. After all, a stressed-out chicken won’t lay any eggs.
And for the chickens who become the best egg layers, players will be able to give them little titles and perks.
With Roadside Egg Stand, ZoZo Studio is hoping to provide a cozy and stress-free experience for gamers.
Roadside Egg Stand will be available on Steam in 2025 but no specific date or pricing has been revealed. To keep up with the game as more information is released, Steam users can add it to their wishlists.
