If you were looking for a construction and management sim game, like Fallout Shelter, with a twist, then look no further than Ale Abbey. Ale Abbey just launched on Steam Early Access and will allow players to direct the monks in their abbey to brew the finest ales that the clergy has ever tasted.
Developed by Hammer & Ravens, players will be able to name their brew and then spend time experimenting and discovering its special traits in order to make their ale the most popular in the land. In order to do that, the right equipment needs to be chosen that will allow for the adjusting of the brew’s quality, quantity, and mash temperature. Once brewed, players will then have to decide whether to store their liquid gold to age or sell it at the market.
However, in order to make their holy brew, the monastery itself needs to prosper. Living quarters will need to be constructed for those you deem worthy to help in this endeavor. In addition, libraries, breweries, the Refectory, and Abbot’s Office will also need careful consideration in where they are placed.
But what good is crafting and drinking a glorious holy brew without creating a legacy around it? Players will also have to hop to it and use their ale to appease lords, befriend neighboring abbeys, and face various challenges. All while exploring various markets to procure ingredients and sell their wares.
The game will eventually feature over 20 European styles of liquid courage to choose from, it is up to the player to discover the recipe for creating the right ale.
Ale Abbey is now in Steam Early Access for $14.99 (on sale for $13.49 until March 4).
