The controversy over Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues to accelerate at a fever pitch as its March 20th release date draws closer. Ubisoft is desperate to make the next Assassin’s Creed installment a success, delaying its release twice and overall failure of 2024 for the company, while informed gamers and an outraged Japan continue to point out the game’s issues. Now, there is a game called Yasuke Simulator which is sure to pour salt in Ubisoft’s wounds while providing the gaming community with some great laughs as we will see Yasuke Simulator vs Assassin’s Creed Shadows discussions make the rounds.
Upon viewing the Steam Page for Yasuke Simulator and its trailer, it is very clear what kind of game it is and what it is taking shots at. From the developer’s name of HistoryAccurateDevelopers to a trailer that shows a budget 3D Yasuke dual-wielding katanas, firing a machine gun, picking up a sniper rifle, and driving a car, this historical representation of the final phase of the Sengoku Period is very accurate in this game (according to the Steam Page, this is set in 1579).

Despite what the trailer shows, historical purists and Thomas Lockley defenders can breathe a sigh of relief as the game’s developer, HistoryAccurateDevelopers, assures everyone of the game’s historical accuracy by stating on its page,
“The Yasuke simulator team has done its research and went above and beyond to provide a totally historically accurate depiction of Feudal Japan with Yasuke the Samurai.”
Fans of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also be glad to see that Yasuke Simulator surpasses Ubisoft’s Japanese murder simulator, reaching new heights by allowing players to mow down Japanese peasants with modern firearms to running them over Grand Theft Auto-style.
Which is probably what “Unleashing Your Inner Warrior” is all about.

While the price for Yasuke Simulator hasn’t been revealed, it does have a release date. In fact, Yasuke Simulator’s release date is the same as Assassin’s Creed Shadows: March 20, 2025. A date that caused a lot of enraged content influencers to further rake Ubisoft over the coals because it is the anniversary of a terrorist attack in Japan.
This Steam parody game is just the kind of thing the gaming community needs as gamers have been fighting back against a video game industry propped up by the feckless mainstream media and game journalists. Suffice to say, the game is quickly garnering attention and the comments on Steam Discussions are pretty funny as Steam Users gleefully mock Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ “real-life historical samurai, Yasuke.”
It’s always great to see indie developers and games mocking the big studios.
Yasuke Simulator can be wishlisted on Steam and is expected to be released March 20th. The Steam Page also discloses that it utilizes AI-generated content for the audio and graphics for the haters out there who will find anything to cancel or shriek about this parody game.
Safe to say, I’m sold and already added this to my Wishlist.
So between Yasuke Simulator and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which Yasuke is more historically accurate?
