Attention Legionnaires! Roman Triumph: Survival City Builder Has Crossed The Rubicon Into Steam Early Access

All roads lead back to Rome and, for many gamers out there, they are willing to seize any chance to play a game in such a setting. To that end, Rome Triumph: Survival City Builder has marched onto Steam Early Access hoping to create a legion of Roman fans.

Developed by Coreffect Interactive, Rome Triumph: Survival City Builder is exactly as the game’s title suggests. A colony sim game with survival elements where players will be tasked to create and manage a Roman city on the fringes of Rome’s northern region on randomly generated maps. With over 50 buildings to unlock and upgrade, the game provides a variety of options but, of course, without fortifications, it will be for naught.

Players will especially need to fortify their city by building walls, towers, recruit armies, and create ballistae and scorpions. After all, success breeds opposition. So players will need to defend their burgeoning settlement against enemies both human and mythical. From barbarians to berserkers to hydras, dragons, and even a Cerberus, players will have to devise strategies and technologies to defeat all who oppose their grand designs and ambitions.

As if fighting off enemies, gathering supplies to build and maintain a city, dealing with heavy weather, and making sure you have enough food to keep your people alive through the cold seasons wasn’t enough, there are also the gods to contend with. Like any good Roman citizen, the player’s success will revolve around the gods. Temples will need to be built and adherence to the gods rules is a must. Failure to do so will incur the gods’ wrath and lead to devastating lightning strikes, ruined crops, deadly disease outbreaks, or even send beasts to destroy you.

Should all of this sound too daunting and overwhelming, the game will have a number of difficulty modes from Principes Novitius (easy) and Peritus Princeps (normal) modes to other options that will allow you to face off against only human opponents or even a peaceful mode with no external threats so you can build your city without any distractions.

Rome Triumph: Survival City Builder is now available on Steam Early Access for $24.99 (on sale for $18.74 until April 17th).
