Nestheads Kickstarter Campaign Launches, Offering Players Chance To Explore Their Own Minds In Innovative Adventure Game

Nestheads Inc has announced that Nestheads, a new 2D open-world adventure game that combines cognitive science with gaming, has launched on Kickstarter. The campaign, which runs until February 13, aims to bring the innovative game to players around the world and help them explore the inner workings of their own minds.

In Nestheads, players navigate a hand-drawn 2D world representing their own brain, visiting locations such as the Hippocampus, Mesencephalon, and Angular Gyrus. Along the way, they’ll encounter a range of experiences, including a paranoid kingdom made of cardboard, a theme park dedicated to narcissism, and a factory producing motor impulses for muscle movement. The open-world content focuses on concepts such as habit formation, dream capture, and negative thought combat.

The game’s main character represents the player, who embarks on a hero’s journey to defeat their own dark side and restore peace to their mind. Player’s will have to navigate their own mind, which is out of control, by wresting control away from the personification of their dark side called The Mayor. To do that, players will have to run an election campaign and convince the rest of your mind’s inhabitants to vote you back into control of your own mind.

The Nestheads’ Kickstarter campaign is looking to hit a goal of $60,000 by February 13 with Kickstarter goals that will expand the game’s scope. At $80,000 there will be twice the basic game content, at $100,000 player housing will be integrated, while goals at $!50,000 and up have yet to be revealed by developer Nestheads Inc. Gamers interested in getting the game for backing the project will need to pledge $20 or more to get a digital copy of the game upon release.

Nestheads Inc says that Nestheads is a game that will appeal to fans of games like Animal Crossing, Pokémon, Psychonauts, Paper Mario, and Undertale. It was created by David Forman and Brody Pendragon, the co-founders of Nestheads Inc.

At the time of this news article being posted, the Nestheads’ Kickstarter campaign at $11,100 with 235 backers. No information as to when the game will be published after the campaign ends has been provided.
